“A 365 Project is a photography project, you take 1 photo each day for a year on a subject of your choosing and share it with the world.”

I have chosen to make a 365 on celebrating imperfections. No matter what, each day I am going to take a “selfie”, most likely with Sushi (my dog) involved, even if I feel fat or ugly or just not photogenic. I want girls, and grown women, to know that you have to love yourself first. I don’t want anyone I know, and even those I don’t, to feel less than perfect. Inspiration for this project was found in the pieces of a broken heart that I am still picking up off the floor. Finding your way in this world is a tough experience, so no one should have to go it alone.

UPDATED 01/18/15:

Year one is in the books; on to year two! It’s been tough to want to face the camera every day, but I pushed through. I still have my down days, my why-am-I-not-thinner-shorter-prettier-smarter days, but my self esteem is much higher than when this project started. Now that I’ve learned a lot about myself as a person, it’s time to learn about me as a photographer. Thanks for following me this far, why not keep going?

  1. Great words from a resilient woman. It is ironic in a way – the fact that one must really love one’s self before one can like one’s self – I think I learned that when I hit my forties 🙂
Great blog and terrific idea to keep yourself focused and upbeat…
